The Dress

Vera Wang's 'Marie José' gown is from the designer's 2019 Fall Bridal collection. The gown, which has an A-line silhouette and is made from ivory tulle, consists of hand-placed ivory Chantilly lace on an ivory bodice accented by hand placed ivory macrame lace. It also come with a custom made high-neck top with short sleeves made from the same ivory lace.

Incredibly comfortable and light this gown is a dream dress for anyone looking for an elegant and timeless look. I really loved the design of the lace, the way the modern macrame design is balanced by the softness of the Chantilly. The additional top also provides an ideal situation for the person that wants versatility as you can have a more classic ceremony look and then a more fun party look as the top can be worn over the bodice and then removed for the party. I did this and some of my guests actually asked if I had changed into another dress.

The gown includes a bustle that was added in alterations, I can provide a video explaining how to do the bustle if needed.

The gown has been professionally dry cleaned and is in very great condition. The gown will be shipped with Vera Wang garment bag as well as certificate of authenticity.

Gown was purchased in 2020 but worn in May 2021.

Alterations

The gown was adjusted to fit my measurements, including dress being taken up to fit my height (5'4") with 4' shoes, i.e. 5'8". I also had a layer of tulle removed that covered the lace tulle, added 6 additional layers of tulle underneath the laced tulle, and removed the straps to make it strapless. Finally, I had a custom top made (high-neck, short sleeved) that can be worn with the dress or without. I wore this top to the ceremony and for the first dance and then took it off for the party creating two looks. Many people actually asked if I had changed dresses.
