The Dress

For those brides who want a timeless and classic dress, that shows off their figure, this Pronovias dress hits the mark. The scoped back, boat neck, the quality of the fabric (for the price) are beautiful. The feature however that really caught my eye was the buttons that run down the back of the dress. While subtle, it accentuates the curves and was the feature that received the most compliments from my guests.
I was always enamoured by the back of Pippa Middleton's bridesmaid dress for Kate Middleton's wedding, so immediately I wanted my dress when I saw these matching buttons.
Pronovias dresses are made to order, so this is not an off-the-rack dress. This has been shipped from Spain. I have only worn it (of course) once and since drying cleaning, it has been left pressed in a special box for someone else to enjoy on their monumental occasion.
My dress was comfortable to wear which was important for me considering we changed the arrangement of our wedding to be in the park due to COVID-19 and hung around with guests for up to 6 hrs, barely sitting down.
Also, the flow of the gown is gorgeous and when you walk for photos you will find that the dress holds its shape. In addition to that, because good quality alterations were done, the dress holds your posture too, something I found invaluable once I saw my standing photos. NOTE: there are a few marks on the bottom of the hem (i.e. the train). It was unavoidable when walking on the grass and the length of this dress (like any other long dress) will drag along soil and everything else. The marks are barely noticeable after its first dry clean, but with the right touch and precision, these remaining light marks could disappear.
I also have the long veil that you will see in the pictures to sell. I am willing to part with this item for $200 (can be negotiated with the dress).

Alterations

The straps have been taken up, but the excess straps have been left, in the event, the next bride wants to lower the straps. The train has also been cut, which you will be able to see by comparing the Pronovias website and my pictures. Further, the dress was shortened so it isn't a trip hazard anymore. Lastly, a 'bustle' has been built into the dress, so that if you are planning to wear the dress long, you can pull up the back of the dress so that it doesn't drag on the floor. Altogether, these alterations were at a cost of $500.
