The Dress

Beautiful Gwendolynne ‘Sabine’ satin slip with hand beaded tulle overlay wedding gown in size 12. It is a stunning vintage style design. The satin slip is cut on the bias and is a flattering antique ivory colour which looks amazing in wedding photos with the tulle overlay. The gorgeous overlay features hand beading and the detail is incredible; art-deco style beading over the entire dress, gorgeous beaded capped sleeves and an amazing brooch style clasp on the neck. The keyhole back is extremely elegant.

I had the seamstress add in bra loops at the back and press-studs at the front of the satin slip so that the dress can be worn with a bra which then won't show over the top of the slip. The dress also has a gorgeous train that can be hooked up and a row of elegant covered buttons down the back. The dress falls just shy of the ground in front: I am 165cm tall and wore shoes with an 8cm heel.

I felt so amazing on my wedding day and I have had so many compliments on this dress.

I paid GBP£4500 for the dress from Luella's Boudoir in London for my wedding in Dorset, UK. It retails for AUD$7400 from the Gwendolynne shop. The gown is in excellent condition, worn just once and has been professionally dry cleaned by Ferrari's, the company recommended by Gwendolynne, at a cost of $440.
