About the Dress

I married my husband in 1997 wearing this dress! We are still happily married but after the wedding I dry cleaned the dress and it has been vacuum packed in a drawer ever since. We have two sons and no daughters so I thought it was time to sell it. I assure you the silk is still in stunning condition but I don’t want to iron it and risk getting water marks on it so I assume you will want to dry clean it again and have it pressed once any alterations are made - I’ve priced it accordingly as the photos don’t show it in its proper glory. The train can cleverly hook out of the way into the skirt after the service to just make a puffier back so that you can walk around with ease. I am five foot 4 inches tall and was a size 8 and I wore heels so it would be a good length for anyone up to 5 foot 7 I imagine. My grandmother treated me to this dress and I know that it was over £4,000 over 20 years ago so - the silk alone is very expensive and heavy. There is netting inside the dress.

Alterations

The tiny buttons down the back were moved in as I lost weight prior to the day. I became more of a size 6/8. They are not difficult to alter.
