The Dress

Selling my gorgeous custom one-of-a-kind Berta wedding dress, which was worn for 3 hours for our elopement October 2020 and is currently getting dry cleaned.

I had a local dressmaker completely transform this dress into a new gown. If you search "Berta 15-01", you will see the dress in its original condition. I had the original lining removed and replaced with a thicker, full length satin to ensure full coverage down the train and through the bodice. In person this dress glitters like a disco ball and is mesmerizing to watch! It is covered head to toe in tiny hand-sewn sequins which sparkle like crazy in the light. I've had full length sleeves added with lace and pearls on the wrists. We removed layers of lace from the front and re-purposed it to create the back feature of the dress and add additional length. I was not required to wear it on the day due to restrictions easing, but the dress will come with a custom hand sewn face-mask made with satin and remaining lace from the gown. Also happy to include my veil too, which is just standard white and cathedral length. I have had the dress taken out as far as it will go and it was a fraction too tight in my opinion (it fit 6 weeks prior so I kind of gave up with my diet, whoops!). There were padded cups in the dress that I had removed but will include if you'd like to pop them back in (DD size). The dress has skin coloured mesh that goes up to the neck, so it does a great job of keeping the girls in check and ensuring everything looks smooth.

I am a standard size 10 in my usual clothes (portmans, jeanswest, target) and my measurements are as follows:
Bust: 37"
Waist: 28.5"
Hips: 38"
Height (with flats): 5'10

Between the custom alterations of the first owner plus my own, this dress has had almost $16,000 of handmade love, work and craftsmanship dedicated to it. I felt like royalty on the day, and hope that whoever is the next owner of this dress feels the same. Happy to post with bridal box and original Berta dress bag. I was fighting with myself as to whether or not I should keep this dress to pass down, but I'd rather the peace of mind that someone out there will adore it as much as I did and have that feeling for a fraction of the price I paid.

Alterations

- Entire lining has been replaced. Bodice lined and train lined.
- Sleeves added with lace cuffs and pearl details.
- Lace panels removed from front
- Back of the dress has add lace panels added to create a "frame"
