The Dress

I wore this beautiful Wendy Makin “Roxanne” dress for my wedding.

It was simply beautiful, elegant and comfortable to wear all day. The French lace is absolutely gorgeous and makes this dress really special; timeless and feminine. I loved the backless, lace detail and received many compliments from guests and strangers in the street.

The Dress features:
Gorgeous French lace
Ivory lace with ivory underlay
Original lace eyelash fringe detailing to capped sleeves and back
Boning to bodice
Cups fitted/stitched into dress
Invisible zip with hook and eye

I am 172cm/ 5"7 tall and wore 8cm heels to my ceremony, then flats after wards.
Originally I had the dress taken up to wear flat shoes only. It didn’t give me any grief and was easy to walk in with no tripping up.

This dress states “do not dry clean” so I have gently hand washed this and it has come up so sparkly white (I wonder if more white then when I wore it!) There are no marks, pulls or damage anywhere.
It is hanging in the original bags.

I would love for another bride to share my dress, save it from a life in the wardrobe!

Alterations

This dress was originally a size 12 (make runs small)
I had the bust taken in, cups added and adjusted above my bottom to where the zipper was (so it didn’t gather) and taken in around my hips.
The hem was slightly taken up
Lining under the train was removed to create a beautiful light train; where you could see the detail of the lace.
Bustle attached and covered with small piece of lace to disguise.
