The Dress

This is a unique couture gown, based on The Taylor gown by Moira Hughes. The neutral blush tone of the silk underlay is complemented by a blush tulle overlay, finished with sparkling Parisienne lace in white. With hidden corseting and a fitted waist, the dress was both sculpting and supportive – I felt so comfortable on the day! As part of the corseting, the gown has D-DD cups built in.

From the fitted waist, the dress flows down to a stunning train. This created a flattering silhouette, and made it super easy to move about in – getting in and out of our low wedding car, up and down stairs, walking around the gardens at our reception, dancing, you name it and I had no trouble!

Although the gown has three layers, it is surprisingly light. A bustle has been added, which was very simple for a friend to do up, and made moving around the reception and dancing even easier.

Moira Hughes added flutter sleeves upon request, and the end result was just beautiful and whimsical. I also selected beautiful neutral blush buttons for the closure – which were also easy to do up (and undo!).

It was such an amazing and unique dress and I would love to see another bride wear it and feel just as special as I did on my wedding day.

Alterations

My gown was made couture, so some changes have been made to the original Taylor design: flutter sleeves were added, the neckline and back were raised slightly, and the buttons added as the closure.
