The Dress

I’m selling my unworn Jenny Packham 'Aspen' gown. I bought the dress at Helen Rodrigues’ clearance sale a couple of months ago in the most impulsive buy of my life! I haven’t touched the dress since, and while I really love it, I cant stop thinking about another dress I had previously tried on a few times, so after much deliberation, have decided to pass the Aspen on to someone its made for.

The Aspen gained a following after Jenny Packham used an image of the gown to spearhead her worldwide 2012 Spring/Summer Collection campaign, and again after Kate Middleton wore a peacock version to the 2012 Olympic Gala.

This beautiful vintage inspired all-silk gown oozes 1930s Hollywood glamour. The design showcases beautiful slick chiffon, light & lacy cap sleeves, lace detailing in the bodice, and an all-lace illusion back which fastens with a row of silk clad buttons. The waist is clinched by a silk sash with beautiful embellishment detail at the front and a delicate bow at the back. The fitted bodice falls away into a full silk skirt with a silk-chiffon overlay. The skirt is semi-fitted at the hips and ends in a long puddle train. All these design traits combine for a stunning and memorable wedding gown.

The dress is a size 12 and hasn’t had any alterations made to it yet, making it perfect for you to alter it exactly as needed. I also have a modesty piece of material and extra lace, which I got with the purchase, allowing you to can adapt the bust section depending on how much cleavage you want to show.

The gown is in excellent condition, having never been worn for a wedding before. I didn’t get the dress dry cleaned on advice from professional wedding dry cleaners (Syndals). The dry cleaners suggested that it is better to get it cleaned after any alterations as a dressmaker’s sewing machine may leave marks. Given it’s never been worn before, there are obviously no stains or marks on it. There is a tiny bit of fraying in the material right next to the zip at the back, which I imagine must have come about through people trying it on. It’s really minor (I didn’t notice it when purchasing the dress myself) and will be very easily fixed by your dressmaker. I have taken this into account when pricing an otherwise new and unworn dress.

The gown is hanging in its Jenny Packham dress bag. Given its light weight, I have left it hanging on advice from the dry cleaner.

I am based in Northcote Melbourne and am more than happy for genuinely interested brides to view the gown. I travel to Sydney and Perth frequently for work so can arrange to bring it with me if that’s where you’re based. Alternatively, I’m happy to post at buyers expense.

It is such a beautiful dress and a real bargain for an unworn, new dress. I really want it to go to a Bride it is made for. Any questions, please ask.

Thanks!
