The Dress

I purchased and wore this stunning skirt to my Debutante Ball.

The skirt was worn for a total of 6 hours and is in pristine condition as shown in the photos. The skirt was transported in the original garment bag to/from the hotel where the ball took place. I changed into the skirt upon arrival to the venue, and out of the skirt immediately after the ball. The entire series of events, took place INDOORS.

Alterations

For the ball, it was necessary to wear a white/ivory skirt. The skirt, when purchased was ordered as ivory but arrived as Moscato (pink). Due to a lack of time, I kept the skirt and hired a professional bridal seamstress to sew a layer of high-end ivory bridal satin OVER the existing Moscato pink fabric layer. The ivory satin, purchased at Britex in San Francisco was sewn in with the matte side facing out, inorder to mirror the manufacturer's original construction. - Please see photo.

THE PINK FABRIC LAYER WAS tacked hemmed up to insure it would be shorter than the ivory lining, however - NO original FABRIC (lining or skirt) HAS BEEN CUT. For the purposes of the Ball, the train (pink lining and horsehair layers) has been professionally "stich" bustled.

The skirt layers in the front were similarly bustled, rather than shortening the skirt from the waist to maintain the original skirt length. A hoop has been installed, with a 20 inch diameter. The hoop is attached to the "Moscato" lining. The hoop does not add actual volume to the skirt, rather, it maintains the overall circular shape of the shirt which flattens in the front and back while worn without the additional structural support.

You may choose to keep the white layer or remove it to reveal the original pink fabric underneath.
The professional seamstress who provided the alternation will release all bustles and/or the ivory lining prior to shipping at buyer's request: no additional cost to buyer.

All alterations currently are made for 5’7 height. (5’4 with three inch heels)

NO ALTERATIONS ARE PERMANENT.
All ALTERATIONS were completed by a professional bridal seamstress and were done with an intent to be REVERSIBLE.
