The Dress

This dress and veil are simple, elegant and striking. I felt absolutely wonderful on my wedding day!
The dress is ivory coloured mikado fabric (it has a soft sheen), and the veil is translucent ivory mesh in a curved shape.

The bodice is fitted with a v neck and 3cm wide straps. It's has a low back with a long row of buttons all the way down to the hem. The buttons are small and round, and covered in the same fabric as the dress. The skirt flows out from the waist and it is pleated at the back, creating volume and a gorgeous silhouette with a defined waist.

The dress gives excellent bust support - I usually wear a 85E bra and this dress supported my bust perfectly (without wearing any bra).
The dress flows out from the waist, which I chose because I wanted to be able to eat, drink and move easily. It's also good because if your hips are wider or smaller, it doesn't matter, there is plenty of space.

I am 165cm tall and I wore this dress with flat shoes (1 to 2cm). The front of the dress meets the floor, and the back of the dress is slightly longer to create a small train. The benefit of a small train is it's lightweight, easy to walk in, and no one needs to hold your skirt or adjust the train for photos - it sits nicely on its own. It does not drag too much on the floor, preventing dirt or damage.

There is a layered tulle underskirt sewn into the dress, with a hoop inside - this prevents your lower body from getting too warm, and also the hoop makes it very easy to walk!

I steamed the dress to remove wrinkles and to get the underskirt in the shape I wanted - you can steam the underlayers more flat or more full to create more or less volume as you prefer. The shape held perfectly and I didn't notice any wrinkles even after sitting, walking and dancing all day and night.

I had never worn a dress like this before and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to walk and move in - no need to pick it up or get help in any way, just walk and dance and have fun!

It's in perfect condition. I had it professionally cleaned (at a cost of €275) and it looks as new.

Bust 89cm
Waist 70cm
Hips 100cm (the skirt is wide around the hips so this measurement does not matter so much)
Armhole 42cm

Veil length 115cm.

The reason I'm selling is because I had a wonderful day in this dress, and now I would love for someone else to enjoy it. I love it so much, but I do not have space to store it, and I do not feel the need to keep something I will not wear again. I have great memories and photos, and now it's time for someone else to have a fantastic time wearing it!

Alterations

I had the length adjusted to my height (165cm and I wore flat shoes so +1 to 2cm). It has some room for your height to be a few cm taller, and you can get it shortened if you need.
I also had the train shortened - now there is a small elegant train, so it's easy to walk and dance in but still looks beautiful from the back.
