The Dress

This Vivienne Westwood gown takes inspiration from an archive look. Employing an advanced pattern cutting technique, one unique piece of seamless fabric is used to create the bodice and sleeves, cleverly draped and tucked to create the voluminous shoulders and ruching across the bodice. The Astral features an inner bralette corset, with a subtle heart-shaped neckline and sleeves that can be worn on or off the shoulder. The sleeves are finished with a stunning row of fabric covered buttons.

I felt amazing in this dress - it is so flattering with the perfect amount of corsetry to achieve a beautiful hourglass and classic Westwood look but comfortable enough to wear all day. The dress is classic and chic but still has the 'wow' factor. I chose to wear the sleeves on the shoulder but it looks great off the shoulder too.

Dress size is 12 - I'm a 12/10 (depending on brand) and it fit really well. Could easily be altered down a number of sizes - I'm confident it would be perfect for a size 12, 10 or 8 depending on the fit you're looking for, and with the opportunity to tailor slightly to achieve a smaller size. Length is 118cm (standard length).

Alterations

Very few alternations needed - took in the material slightly around the upper arm to soften the volume and create a sleek look; had the neckline pinned down slightly more to highlight décollage
