Alterations

I bought this dress at a sample sale and had it professionally dry cleaned and altered for our courthouse elopement. See pictures: the original gown is floor length with a train. The gown is now just above the floor and hi-low in the front so you can see the shoes!

The layers were adjusted to be proportional to new hem length. I have never seen a Decklyn altered this way, and I absolutely LOVED it, and it was much more practical as a shorter hem for a summer wedding.

There are no cups inside, boning across both breasts. Fully lined in a silky satin.

The straps are not self adjustable. They are one piece of material with the bodice. Purchased a sample size 10: and has been altered to my measurements which are approximately a street size 6.

There is a little more room in the bust than my 34-35”.

The skirt is full and circle so you don’t need to worry about the hip dimension. My hips are 40” at widest.

My natural waist below the ribs above belly button is 29” and its is a very close fit there. Your seamstress may be able to use additional fabric at the “v” on either side if you need to adjust the waist size at all.

The back is low and open, but I bought a layered clip in low veil for more modesty and it worked great with the layers of the dress fabric!
