The Dress

The totally iconic Taryn & Camille combo from Aussie designer Karen Willis Holmes. It was a tough decision to let her go, but it’s time for her to move on to make another bride feel like an absolute rockstar on her special day.

The simple luxury of the mikado fabric is offset by the dramatic proportions of the dress. The fitted U-shape bodice beautifully displays the décolletage and comfortably supports the classic full skirt for a long night of gorgeous revelry. The dress is easily closed with a hidden zip covered by a display row of mikado buttons. Also - it has pockets! With a simple alteration you choose the length of the skirt split and depth of the neckline for a daring or more modest moment.

Dramatic and super flattering. Taryn Camille is the perfect dress for the fashion forward bride.

I usually wear a size 12DD bra and this dress fit like a glove.

Alterations

I had a very fine three point bustle added to the dress for maximum volume and maximum danceability 💃

The detachable bubble sleeves were also installed with small clear snaps under the shoulder straps. The bubble sleeves were heartbreakingly lost - sacrificed to the party gods in return for the most amazing night of my life. I had purchased the sleeves from Karen Willis Holmes separately from the dress and had them installed by a local tailor. If you love the drama they bring I recommend reaching out to the designer as well, they were very friendly to deal with on the phone and via email.

I will include a 5cm wide Congo belt in matching mikado that I did not wear on the day. I thought I would like the structured look of the belt but in the end opted for a simpler vibe.
