The Dress
I chose this dress for its elegant and flattering front, its unexpected and beautiful sheer back, and its gorgeous train, and I was overwhelmed by the compliments I received throughout my wedding day for the dress and how well it fit me. As a bonus, I travelled 1,000 miles with the dress and it barely even needed to be steamed! I am usually a Size 6 and this Size 12 fit me perfectly. I could have worn it as-is, but I had a professional tailor make a few adjustments (detailed below).
The dress was worn once and has since been professionally cleaned.
Alterations
1) Extra fabric removed from the hip where the fabric was not laying flat. This did not alter the shape or size of the dress as the fabric was in an underlayer. 2) Added removable cups. 3) Added a French bustle. 3) Adjusted straps slightly so the boat neck would lay flat across my collarbones. Note: The dress was not hemmed.
