The Dress

I love this dress. I wasn't looking for dresses like this when I tried it on, I was looking for an open back or sheer bodice, but it was so comfortable that I immediately felt completely at ease. In this dress you don't need to worry about straps staying in place, or a special (expensive) bra or having white or flabby bits on display! I didn't want a train either, but the lace is so delicate, everyone loved it and it made me feel extra special.

I wore it for my Brisbane summer wedding, so although it has relatively full coverage, I didn't notice any warmth other than the usual Brisbane humidity. I felt so relaxed and pretty.

An alteration was made to the small of the back (at approximately waist height) along the zip. It was taken in but I requested that the seamstress not remove the excess fabric to allow the next owner to let the seam out again if needed. The seamstress also advised that I make alterations to the sleeve & neckline for a tighter smoother fit but I declined (you will see in my photos that there is some excess fabric at the neckline. I didn't mind this look but it can be altered to be smooth as per the marketing pic, or it may fit you differently.) A 3pt or waterfall bustle was added which worked well. The length is original.

UPDATE for those who have saved this dress: I have just had the dress dry-cleaned (Aug 2024) and it is now boxed. Dress is in perfect as new condition, ready for a new owner. Price is slightly lower, so you now get dry cleaning thrown in for free.
(N.B. I will still allow try-ons but only if you promise that you are not wearing make-up or fake-tan!)
