About the Dress

It took me ages to find my perfect dress but when I saw the Jenny Yoo Langdon Gown at BHLDN, I knew I'd finally found the one.

My favorite thing about the dress were the detachable shoulder streamers. The streamers were so much fun to photograph with - I spent all after posing with the veil in the wind and felt like I was Rose and Jack in that one scene in the Titanic. As an added bonus, I saved some extra money from not having to buy an additional veil to wear on my head and got a lot of compliments from friends and family saying that this was the coolest take on a traditional veil they've ever seen.

Outside of the streamers, there were little buttons accents next to the zipper running down the back of the dress gave it a super classy touch! Not to mention, the amount of lace around the chest area that extended towards the side of the chest and slight to the back was just the perfect amount for someone who wants a more modern look and photographed beautifully!

Overall, wearing the dress made me feel modern and sophisticated with just the right amount of sexiness. I got married in New York City so naturally there were a lot of people walking around on the streets. Typically, everyone pretty much keeps to themselves. However, I got so many compliments on the dress during our photoshoot prior to the start of the wedding ceremony that I was definitely the "blushing" bride!

The dress fit great off the rack but note that I did have to get the dress slightly altered to better fit my height and chest. The dress was originally heavier but once altered, it's now light and easy to walk in. I even danced our first dance in the dress with no issues.

Alterations

I had to get the dress hemmed as it was too long off the rack for my 5'6 height. However, given that I was wearing 4 inch heels, the dress is still relatively long!

Separately, the chest area was taken in slightly to account for my C cup size boobs and I had cups inserted so there's no need to wear a bra! There were multiple liners on the interior of the dress, so in order to make the dress lighter to walk in, my tailor removed a layer (don't worry, I had no issues with panty lines showing even with the removal of one layer of liner).

Finally, a bustle was added for the train, so any future owners of this dress won't have to worry about that!
